PASADENA, MD – The Maryland
Saltwater Sportfishermen’s Association, Inc. (MSSA)
is pleased to announce Dave Smith as our new
Associate Executive Director. Dave hails from
Montana where he received his B.A. in Political
Science from The University of Montana and has
been involved in state and federal politics for
several years.
In 2005 Dave worked as a
legislative intern for the law firm of Browning,
Kaleczyc, Berry and Hoven during the Montana
Legislative Session where he fell in love with
politics. Following his dream he decided to load
up the car and head to Washington, I know what
you are thinking, “Mr. Smith Goes to
Washington.”
While he didn’t arrive as a
Senator, he quickly worked his way through the
trenches of Capitol Hill starting as a
Legislative Intern for Senator Burns, moving
onto Staff Assistant for the Senate Chief
Counsel for Employment and most recently with
U.S. Senator Jon Tester as Executive Aide to the
Chief of Staff. While his career in D.C. was
wonderful, he and his wife decided it was time
to start a family and look for a career closer
to home in Towson.
“I am very excited to start
working with Steve, Rich and the rest of the
board in continuing MSSA’s history of hard work
and passion for Maryland’s sport fishermen. I
believe we are a valuable asset not only to the
recreational boaters, sport fishermen, but to
the state of Maryland and the environment.”
Dave brings with him a
great background and personality to the MSSA
that will expand and enhance MSSA’s mission.
Please feel free to contact
Dave anytime at the office between 9:00 am –
5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
